Small intimate elopements are my freaking jam!!! This past week, I photographed the sweetest elopement in North Carolina! Jessica + Adam were planning on getting married this past April but because of COVID, they had to reschedule. They originally rescheduled to October, but after much thought, they decided two weeks ago to just go ahead and elope on June 19! And I am SOOO glad they did!!
They eloped at Raffaldini Vineyards in Rhonda, North Carolina. The entire day it was raining + we kept praying for it to clear up. And guess what… IT DID!! And not only did it clear up, but the sky was literally cotton candy colored. It was freaking beautiful! It was a slow day where the bride took in every moment. Her grandmother, mom, + two of her best friends were there with her while she was getting ready in this little cottage. Jessica did her own hair and makeup and it was to dieeeee for!! I loved how laid back everything was. There was no rush + the only priority was for Jessica + Adam to enjoy their day. While Jessica was still getting ready, one of Jessica’s friends + myself went and set everything up. We decorated the ceremony space, arranged the florals, set up the chairs, decorated the charcuterie board table, and just made it look exactly how Jessica wanted it. This was one of my favvv things because I got to show up on their wedding day as more than just a photographer. I got to be her friend + serve alongside all her family + friends and make their day as special as possible.
Their day was so intimate + intentional. After the ceremony + all the pictures were done, her friend plugged her phone up to a speaker and Jessica + Adam did their first dance with the most beautiful sunset in the background. They finished the night off with charcuterie boards + wine! Days like that day remind me of why I do what I do!
